Cooperation! Chaoyang County Signed a 300MW Energy Storage Project with OPESS

Recently, Key Project Promotion Meeting of the Liaoning-Yangtze River Delta Investment Promotion Week was opened in Shanghai. At the meeting, the signing ceremony of a 300MW energy storage project between Chaoyang County Government and OPESS was held. In the presence of Chen Lvping, Vice Governor of Liaoning Province, Xie Weidong, Deputy Secretary of Chaoyang Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, and Wang Yifan, Vice Mayor of Chaoyang City, the cooperation contract was signed between Shi Wantian, Deputy Secretary of Chaoyang County Party Committee and County Mayor, and Shang Dehua, General Manager of OPESS.

It is learned that the cooperation will see the construction of a lithium iron phosphate energy storage power station in Chaoyang Liucheng Economic Development Zone, with a total investment of 600 million yuan. As a key 300MW energy storage project promoted by Chaoyang County, Chen Lvping has attached great importance to it. The cooperation will inject new momentum for Chaoyang County’s industrial upgrading and continue to promote the county’s high-quality economic and social development.

The power station will contain 75 4MW energy storage battery boxes, 37 4MW energy storage converters and AC boxes and several high-voltage switchgears. The station-side monitoring system (EMS) is placed in the electrical relay room of the booster station to monitor and control the energy storage system in real time by collecting real-time data from the battery pack and the power conversion system (PCS) to meet the demand for peak and frequency regulation of the grid and realize safe and stable operation of the grid.

It is expected that after the project is completed and put into operation, the annual output value can reach 400 million yuan and the tax revenue will be about 40 million yuan. At the same time, the development of supporting industries will be driven by the market, and a whole energy storage industry chain base integrating new battery materials, energy storage system integration and energy storage power station applications will be formed.

The 14th Five-Year Plan period is a crucial period for China to achieve the goal of peaking carbon emissions, and is also an important strategic opportunity for the development of new energy storage. It is an urgent and arduous task to promote the development of new energy storage on a large scale and accelerate the construction of new power systems.

Chaoyang County, as an old industrial base in Northeast China, is in urgent need of industrial transformation to promote economic development. With superior location advantages and policy opportunities, Northeast China has a good foundation and broad prospects for the development of energy storage and other clean energy industries. Chaoyang County will take the new energy storage industry as one of the key characteristic industries to develop in the future, and drive the industrialized, large-scale and market-oriented development of energy storage by maximizing the demonstration effect of this cooperation project.

It is expected that by the end of the 14th Five-Year Plan period, there will be more than 40 clean energy projects in Chaoyang County, with a total investment of more than 40 billion yuan, a total installed capacity of more than 5,000 MW, a total power generation capacity of more than 8 billion kWh, an annual saving of about 2 million tons of standard coal, and an annual increase of more than 500 million yuan in fiscal tax revenue.

Shang Dehua said that OPESS is a national high-tech enterprise, a key enterprise in the national G60 science and technology innovation corridor, and a technology-based energy storage system integration service provider with several ISO certificates.

OPESS is committed to providing safe, reliable and technologically advanced energy storage services. It has intellectual property rights in energy storage, peak and frequency regulation, and comprehensive energy and has more than 300 patents. The company continues to promote product development and seizes the energy storage system integration market through multiple iterations and upgrading.

With its proprietary safety technology, OPESS’s energy storage products can meet the energy needs of multiple users, scenarios and environments, and play an important leading role in energy storage safety.

In the future, OPESS will adhere to the service-oriented principle, build regional benchmark projects, continue to practice the safety-oriented concept, promote the development of energy storage industry and help achieve the carbon peaking goal.
